I'm 22, male and from India. India's generally known to be very conservative and all (think Victorian, multiple by a couple hundreds) but things are changing. Even in the smallest of towns people have opened up to issues that were social taboo. I suddenly had this epiphany the other day when I realized what really was social taboo in India, it's stuttering.

In my 17 odd years of covert stuttering (and intermittent lapses into bouts of severe stuttering, also called having a bad day) never has anybody spoken to me about my stutter. My parents have sometimes told me to slow down and how I don't really have a problem and it's all in my mind, but I've never really had anybody to talk to about this, somebody who'll just listen. I just don't know who to trust. I'm too scared they'll talk about this behind my back. They might not make fun but just be like sad and all, and that's not what I want. I've never had a girlfriend because of the stutter and I just feel hopelessly lonely. I play the violin to take my mind off of things but that's hardly a very cheerful instrument :
