People are keeping their vehicles a lot longer nowadays because of the recession. In addition, many people have postponed the routine maintenance on their vehicle because they simply do not have the money or are not aware of the warning signs of trouble. Cars that do not have proper maintenance often develop serious problems that require very expensive repairs. Often those repairs cost more than the car is worth.

Even though Cash for Clunkers is over, you can still make money on that junk car of yours even if it's not running. Instead of dumping your old car or letting it rust in the driveway, get rid of it in any of these four ways and make some cash.

Raffling a car can be an excellent way to raise money for your favorite charitable organization or an alternative to selling your car.

Getting rid of an old broken down car can be as simple as donating it to a charity that accepts old vehicles, or you can junk it yourself and make some pocket money. Keep in mind that different salvage yards have different rules, so you'll need to know what they are to get the best deal.

Dirty cars are without a doubt unsightly and the key to a successful car washing is working from top to bottom and one side at a time. Confused? Here are a few easy steps to get your car looking like new.

Most people buy cars, especially new cars, with a car loan that can last five or six years, or more. Automobiles, however, depreciate rapidly. When the car is first driven off the lot it depreciates significantly because it is no longer a new car.

Well, before you do, here are a few things you should know. Many people do not realize that this old piece of junk metal brings a good price at a junk yard. If you do not know this, you may call someone who is in the towing business or junk car business and ask them to take it away.

Refinancing an upside down car loan can be a frustrating task. An individual becomes upside down on his vehicle when the amount owed on the car is more then the value of the vehicle.

Winter can be rough on cars, so unless you live in a warm or moderate climate, here's a list of things you can do to make sure your vehicle is ready for the upcoming cold season.
